SG carries on the legend
Since its debut in 1974, the Yamaha SG has been the choice of some of the most influential guitarists. From its rich tone and long sustain to its outstanding playability and stunning design, all of its signature characteristics have stood the test of time, remaining relevant to this day. However, there have been countless changes in the music scene and the emergence of many new music styles since the birth of the SG guitars. Along with such changes we have witnessed huge improvements and changes in amplifiers and effects - suffice to say, players demands today are totally different from those when the original SG was introduced.Although the original SG models have carved their names in the history of electric guitars, to satisfy those demands, and make today’s SG as iconic and relevant as the original models, the SG1820 series was developed.Using direct feedback from Yamaha’s London and Tokyo Artist Relations offices and Yamaha Artist Services Hollywood (YASH), the guitars are specced with the custom-shop parts that artists want and need and finished with the new simpler cosmetics that players have been asking for.Featuring Japanese handmade set-neck construction, African Mahogany body and neck and maple top, the new SGs feature totally updated, no-compromise specifications to make them perfect for today’s musicians. Finally, the stadium-ready SGs that Yamaha have been producing for artists are available to the public.

Las Seymour Duncan ‘59 generan un tono cálido, profundo y cremoso.
La SG1820 es el modelo estándar de la nueva serie 1800. Su aspecto y prestaciones responden a la demanda de los artistas involucrados en su desarrollo. La nueva guitarra SG1820 está hecha a mano en Japón y se caracteriza por su increíble tono, la extrema fiabilidad de su construcción y las sensaciones que proporciona al músico. El sonido que emana de su cuerpo de caoba macizo es modulado por un set de pastillas Humbucker Seymour Duncan ’59, que otorgan la fuerza necesaria a las ejecuciones más rockeras, pero con los matices clásicos y la calidez que una buena pastilla Vintage proporciona. El ataque se caracteriza por unas frecuencias medias contenidas y un abanico de graves pronunciado, lo que resulta en un tono Vintage potente lleno de presencia y muy profundo. La pala de ajustado tamaño presenta la clásica figura floral de las series SG de antaño. Los marcadores (inlays) incrustados en su diapasón de palorrosa rescatan el característico diseño de punta de flecha.

SG1820A
Equipada con pastillas activas EMG 85/81, responde a la necesidad de incorporar una guitarra que rinda al máximo en regímenes de alta ganancia. Letalmente silenciosa en reposo, desgrana riffs con fiereza y gran definición. Las pastillas ofrecen una variedad tonal muy amplia, destacando por su claridad. Su cuerpo de caoba extremadamente resonante expande su sonoridad a otro nivel, generando atmósferas con tintes emocionales únicos. El hardware de níquel negro, los potenciómetros metálicos y sus inlays contemporáneos acentúan su agresiva imagen. La figura floral de la pala se ha modernizado y se presente de forma casi tribal.

SG1802
La SG1802 es una guitarra de corte Vintage. Estéticamente, la SG1802 bebe directamente de la mágica década de los ’60, con acabados ligeramente más austeros y una sobriedad atemporal que no pasa de moda. A nivel sonoro, el guitarrista disfrutará de la reconfortante cremosidad de sus pastillas Seymour Duncan P-90. La pala incluye el clásico diseño floral pero sin binding. Los inlays del diapasón son, en esta ocasión, los clásicos dots (puntos) de madreperla y los 4 potenciómetros de tipo “barrel” también evocan otros tiempos.
